Monaco: Sting, Back to the Bass...
Sting performed last night at the Sporting Club, as part of a tour showcasing his favorite instrument, the bass.
The day before, he set the Dôme de Marseille ablaze. It was in this vein that Sting rocked the Sporting Club in Monaco yesterday. At 10:45 p.m., the audience was bursting with anticipation when the former leader of the band Police took the stage.
Shaved head, blue-gray T-shirt, jeans: the tone was set, the concert would be "cool." With well-crafted guitar riffs, he was off for a show that quickly won over the audience.
The first songs, the first moments of nostalgia in the audience. "Everything She Does is Magic" got the crowd pumping. The second track, the indescribable 'English Man in New York', was enough to get a room in its Sunday best vibrating. The sequence of Sting's greatest hits revisited with a modern rock twist had the desired effect: immersing the audience in the heart of the Sting myth.
While last summer, the "English Man" visited the Principality with a symphony orchestra, this time he opted for a return to his roots. His "Back to Bass" tour was specially designed to showcase his favourite instrument, the bass. A Proust-inspired experience that audiences thoroughly enjoyed.
At 60, the Briton has proven, if need be, that he has nothing to envy from younger generations. Rock in the timeless tradition that delights all generations.
