Sting, symphonic version, captivates the Zenith in Nantes...
A radiant, standing-room-only audience, a symphony orchestra waving its instruments, a highly expressionist version of "Moon over Bourbon Street," the snarl of the strings under the bows, the sudden power of the brass invading the room with the opening chords of "Russians," a few classical guitar chords that work like magic, a kind of Irish jig that suddenly shakes up the stage... These are some of the powerful images of the concert that just ended.
Sting at the Zenith tonight showcased the rare elegance of an international star who introduces his orchestra in French in the text and always presents some of the songs from his concert in French. It also showcased the generosity of a singer who doesn't shy away from the pleasure of encores, offering, at the end, just an a cappella after a symphonic deluge. It's simply called class.
